19. Home Occupations:
a. What is required if I want to work from my home? You would have to make application to the Planning Advisory Committee for approval to operate a home occupation. The nature of your business would have to be secondary to the main residential use of your home. Only one other person, other than any permanent resident of the home, is allowed to be employed there. The business must be confined to the dwelling unit with no part of it located in an accessory building or structure.
The only change to the outside appearance of your home would be the application of a small sign. The floor area, which is devoted to the home occupation can not be more than 25% of the floor area of your home, or 32 square meters. Only goods or services directly pertaining to the home occupation are permitted onsite. No equipment or material used is stored other than in the dwelling unit. Two off street parking spaces are provided and other terms as the Planning Advisory Committee may impose.
