Mary Schryer sworn in as mayor of Quispamsis

Mary Schryer has been sworn in as the new mayor of Quispamsis.

Schryer ran unopposed in the local government elections earlier this month and became mayor-elect by acclimation.

This is the eighth session of Quispamsis Council. Schryer served as deputy mayor during the seventh session.

As per the town’s Procedural By-Law No. 066, returning Councillor Kerrie Luck was elected deputy mayor.

Councillors Mike Biggar, Emil Olsen, Beth Thompson, Kirk Miller, Noah Donovan and Doug MacDonald were also sworn in. MacDonald is in his first term while all others are returning councillors.

The first regular meeting of the new Quispamsis Council is Tuesday, June 16, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall.
