Millennium Drive street infrastructure improvements to begin Sept. 2

Quispamsis is completing street infrastructure upgrades on Millennium Drive between Route 119 and Market Street. Construction is expected to start on Tuesday, September 2, and should last approximately nine (9) weeks.

The proposed work is generally expected to include the following:

·         Construction of new multi-use trail and sidewalk along Millennium

·         New pedestrian islands at the west side of the Millennium Drive @ Route 119 intersection

·         A new pedestrian crosswalk on Millennium Drive near Shannex Drive

·         Storm sewer upgrades

·         New curb and gutter along both sides of Millennium Drive

·         Asphalt milling and paving on Millennium Drive

Millennium Drive will remain open to traffic in both directions. Motorists in the area can expect traffic delays during the construction period and should consider using alternate routes where possible. Pedestrians will be directed around the construction zone.

Accesses to all businesses in the area will remain open. The town’s contractor will install appropriate signage and will be on site to guide all traffic through the construction area as needed.
