Park Closure Update – August 18

Hammond River Park and the Millennium Cycle Bike Park remain closed as part of Quispamsis’ efforts to mitigate the risk of forest fires.

Our region did receive some much-needed precipitation recently, but persistent dry conditions coupled with another lengthy period with no additional rain expected have prompted staff, in consultation with emergency responders, to maintain the current closures.

All other parks and trails remain open although residents are encouraged to limit their use. Barbeque pits have been removed from Meenan’s Cove Park and barbequing is prohibited in all park locations.

A burn ban remains in place throughout New Brunswick, which includes campfires and fireworks. All Crown land in the province is closed. Follow the Governemnt of New Brunswick’s Fire Watch for the latest provincial information.

Call 911 if you see or suspect a fire in your area.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and ask that you respect barricades and other signage that may be in place for your safety.

Please monitor town websites and social media for the latest developments as we work to protect Quispamsis and the Kennebecasis Valley.
