Quispamsis seeks new member for Kennebecasis Valley Joint Board of Fire Commissioners
The Kennebecasis Valley Joint Board of Fire Commissioners is seeking a community-minded individual with strong leadership and governance experience to serve as an appointed Board member for Quispamsis. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of fire protection and emergency services for the residents of Quispamsis and Rothesay by providing strategic oversight and governance to the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department.
Responsibilities
Under the Regional Fire Protection Agreement between the Towns of Quispamsis and Rothesay, the Board is responsible for the governance, oversight, and strategic direction of the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department Inc. (KVFD). Board members work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and sustainable fire protection and emergency services to the communities we serve.
Desired Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess one or more of the following:
- Experience in governance, leadership, or strategic planning
- Financial management, risk management, or human resources expertise
- A background in public administration, law, business, or senior management
- Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
- An understanding of public sector accountability and community service
- Sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to focus on long-term strategic priorities rather than day-to-day operations
Term & Time Commitment
- Appointments are typically for a four-year term and may be renewed.
- The Board generally meets on the second Wednesday of February, April, June, September, and October.
- Additional meetings may be scheduled in November and/or December as required.
- Special meetings may be called with a minimum of 48 hours' notice.
