Quispamsis to open comfort centre Monday
Quispamsis will be opening a comfort centre at the qplex this week in recognition of the health and safety of residents in our region still dealing with power outages from the recent storm.
The comfort centre provides a safe, warm place where residents can relax, charge devices and access shower facilities.
The comfort centre will be open in the Ritchie Lake Room of the McCluskey Brothers Conference Centre at the qplex:
- Monday, December 22 – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 23 – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, December 24 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. *if our residents remain without power*
Signage will be in place directing residents.
Refill stations for personal water bottles are available. For larger water jugs, potable water is always available from a publicly accessible tap on the south side of the Quispamsis Memorial Arena at 350 Hampton Road.
The availability of the comfort centre will be reviewed regularly by municipal and public safety officials as power is restored to homes in our area.
Please monitor NB Power’s outage map and social media channels for the latest updates on restoration efforts.
Report any concerns with municipal property or infrastructure through the Q-1-1 Reporter system.
