Road Construction Notice: Reimagine Hampton Road construction to begin next week
The Reimagine Hampton Road construction project is set to begin Monday, August 24, 2026. Here’s what you need to know:
Reimagine Hampton Road project
This is a sizable, generational makeover to the main street in our downtown and will include municipal water, wastewater and storm sewer infrastructure along with modified traffic flow and enhanced pedestrian features and community spaces.
Location details
The project area is on Hampton Road in the town limits between the intersection of Campbell Drive and Pettingill Road at the Rothesay border to the intersection of McCarron Drive. Also included is Landing Court down to the entrance to the Arts and Culture Park.
Construction Timeline
As noted earlier, work is expected to begin August 24, 2026. It will start at the intersection of Hampton Road and Pinewood Crescent with the specific construction zone shifting as work is completed. These improvements will be ongoing through the end of November or early December and resume in the spring of 2027. Residents and property/business owners are being notified.
Vehicle Traffic
It is our intention to keep Hampton Road open in both directions as much as possible during the work, but significant traffic disruptions and delays are likely as lane restrictions are expected. Please use alternate routes when possible. Every effort will be made to ensure access to driveways and businesses will be maintained.
