Matthew's Cove Park

Matthew’s Cove Park gives users an opportunity to learn about a functioning wetland and its ecosystem, while they stroll through the park.

Interpretive panels have been placed throughout the park giving users information about the history of the wetland, its functionality, as well as its wildlife.

You can also relax and take in the beautiful scenery with benches and picnic tables at your convenience.

Trail

Matthew’s Cove is home to 1 km of the Trans Canada Trail.

Located off the Gondola Point Arterial, the gravel & boardwalk trail leads users through a series of interpretive viewing areas where they will learn about the history and functionality of Matthew’s Cove Wetland.

Keep in mind

  • Facilities are for use at your own risk.
  • Please respect all users and be mindful of facility rules and regulations.
  • Playgrounds and trails are not maintained between October and April unless otherwise noted.
  • Skateboards are permitted for use only at the Wheels and Ramps Skateboard Park.
  • The use of cigarettes, cigars and pipes is prohibited at any public park, playground or beach where signs are posted.
  • The use of firearms, airsoft guns, pellet guns, air guns or archery equipment is prohibited at all public parks, playgrounds and beaches.
