Representatives from your community help manage organizations and facilities.

Quispamsis is represented by residents and council members on various boards, commissions and committees which help shape the future of the town and region.

If you are interested in serving on a board, commission, or committee, you can complete and submit a Town Committee Application, along with your resume. All applications are reviewed by the Nominating Committee and recommendations are forwarded to council for approval.

Boards and Committees

The PAC makes recommendations to Council on planning-related matters, like proposed subdivision developments, property rezoning, municipal plan amendments, and zoning amendments.

Term: 3 years

The vision of the Fundy Regional Service Commission is to work in collaboration and cooperation with communities, ensuring that Municipalities and Local Service Districts are better positioned to meet the service needs of residents and to benefit from collective efforts to build and sustain stronger regions.

Members: Mayor Libby O'Hara

The Commission is responsible for the management and operation of the Aquatic Centre facility and to promote and initiate recreational programs, activities and sporting events.

And further, to make recommendations to the Fundy Regional Service Commission for the amount of the annual operating subsidy to be shared by the four municipalities.

Members: Sal Losier

Members must be supporters of the Imperial Theatre.

Board members will bring with them skill sets, experience and expertise to provide the Theatre with valuable ‘in-kind’ contributions to the Theatre’s operation.

This board falls under the mandate of the Fundy Regional Service Commission.

Members: Kevin Greaves

Pursuant to the Kennebecasis Regional Board of Police Commissioners (KRJBPC) Agreement between the Towns of Quispamsis and Rothesay, the KRJBPC has the authority and responsibility of providing and maintaining an adequate police force for the Kennebecasis Valley.

It consists of four representatives from each municipality, a person appointed by the Province, and the Police Chief.

Members: Coun. Kerrie Luck, Coun. Mike Biggar, Bob McLaughlin, Vibhuti Harquail.

The Kennebecasis Public Library Board, established by agreement between the Town of Quispamsis and the Town of Rothesay, is responsible for overseeing the operation of the regional library service. 

It consists of four representatives, (one elected and three community), from each of the two towns.

Members: Coun. Noah Donovan, Jamie Clarke, Amy Watling, Crystal Collette.

Pursuant to the Regional Fire Protection Agreement between Quispamsis and Rothesay, the Fire Board was established for the purpose of providing fire protection to the residents of Quispamsis and Rothesay.

Each Town appoints 3 representatives, (currently 2 elected and 1 community member).

The board meets a minimum of five times per year.

Members: Coun. Noah Donovan, Coun. Kirk Miller, Patricia Murray.

P.R.O. KidsOversees program and financial assistance to children in need so that all young people will have the opportunity to participate in the arts, cultural, recreation and sport activity of their choice.

Administered through the City of Saint John, with the region municipalities cost-sharing in the administration costs.

Members: Gina O'Rourke-McKay

The SJ Arts Board develops and promotes the arts as integral to the vitality of the greater SJ community – embracing originality, diversity and artistic expression.

And further, to make recommendation to the Fundy Regional Service Commission for the amount of the annual operating subsidy to be shared by the four municipalities.

The board meets a minimum of nine times per year.

Members: Vacant

Reviews applications from Quispamsis students’ graduating from high school, and recommends to Council the award of two (2) $750 bursaries  based on the scholarship criteria.

Consists of 2 elected representatives, one citizen representative and the Director of Community Services.

Members: Coun. Noah Donovan, Andrea Clark-Groden, Carolyn LeBlanc, Dana Purton Dickson.

Established to review the annual budget prepared by Hilton Canada for the operation of the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, to monitor the operations of the facility pursuant to an agreement between the City of SJ and Hilton Canada and to make recommendation to the Fundy Regional Service Commission for the amount of the annual operating subsidy to be shared by the four municipalities.

The TD Commission’s purpose is to establish policies and guidelines for the management and operation of TD Station including utilizing the facility for sporting, commercial and entertainment activities and other such events that will advance the success of the facility.

And further, to make recommendation to the Fundy Regional Service Commission for the amount of the annual operating subsidy to be shared by the four municipalities.
