Run for Quispamsis Town Council

Make a difference in your community.

Any Canadian citizen who has been a resident of Quispamsis for at least six months and is at least 18 years old is eligible to run as a candidate in a local government election in Quispamsis.

Local government elections are typically held every four years in New Brunswick. The next local government election is scheduled for May 11, 2026.

In Quispamsis, residents elect a mayor and seven at-large councillors to represent them on Quispamsis Town Council. In accordance with the Local Governance Act and the town's Prodecural By-Law No. 066, a deputy mayor is selected by council based on the councillor who received the highest number of votes in the most recent election.

Individuals wishing to run for council must submit nomination papers to the Municipal Returning Office. Nomination papers can be obtained at the Municipal Returning Office or by download from the Elections NB website.

Returning Office

The Elections NB Returning Office for Quispamsis is in the McCluskey Brothers Conference Centre at the qplex.

It will operate from Monday, March 23, through the end of the election period.

Election Signs

Any candidate wishing to post signage to promote their campaign is permitted to do so provided they adhere to the Quispamsis Sign By-law No. 036. Political signage is covered on page 11.
