Public Notice is hereby given that the Quispamsis Town Council intends to consider the adoption of a new Municipal Pan and new Zoning By-law (as per Community Planning Act, SNB 2017, c 19, s 25(1)).
What is a Municipal Plan?
A Municipal Plan is a strategic document that outlines a municipality’s long-term vision for land use, growth, and development.

- Modernize and simplify document, improve readability, and administration
- Introduce mechanisms to manage infrastructure and density
- Update Residential and Commercial development frameworks to better respond to development pressures, trends, and public feedback
What is a Zoning By-law?
A Zoning By-law is a legal tool that puts the Municipal Plan into action. It divides the municipality into zones and sets rules for how land can be used and developed.
Purpose of Zoning By-law update:
- Improve readability and ease of administration
- Updates to be more responsive to development pressure and trends
- Increase flexibility
- Decrease need for PAC and Council applications
